Rob Zombie

For those of you that don't know, Rob Zombie and Ozzy are coming to play at the Fargo dome. I was so excited when I found out. Zombie has killer shows and I can not wait to go. We already bought tickets and have a sitter lined up. I'm just speechless. I love Zombie and Ozzy. SWEEET!!!!!!!!!!!!

Target Practice Anyone?

Well, today I had a high school student hit my vehicle as I was picking Janessa up from school. I think our van is going to be totaled which sucks. The cop laughed at me as he put a sticker on my window because I already had another one on there from the construction vehicle that rammed into me a few weeks ago. Maybe, I should follow his advice and get a different car. We're debating on that though. Maybe it won't be totaled but I highly doubt it. I guess we could just take the money and deal with the damage. Luckily, it's mostly cosmetic. We could get a different vehicle but this one runs fine. But what are the odds?! Seriously?! I felt bad for the girl though. It was her boyfriend's car, first accident she ever had, and was just scared.

Comedy Night

Our date was the best night ever! It was great! I love stand up comedy at Dreamer's. The comedians had me almost peeing myself. (I know, hot visual right?)We have decided to make it a weekly event. So if anyone wants to hang out with us Wednesday nights, you know where to meet us!

bring on the gore

We're going to carve pumpkins soon! I still can't decide on my face. I was thinking about making fake blood as well. I'm one of those horror Halloween fans. I can't stand cutesy Halloween. It irritates me to see smiling pumpkins and happy go lucky witches on broom sticks. It's HALLOWEEN, damn it! Show me the blood, gore, skeletons, and gravestones. I want to go to a convention one year. It looks like so much fun. Our basement is perfect for the creepy halloween feel. Bricks, concrete, sepaok, rate rooms, hooks hanging from the ceiling (yeah, that one even creeped me out when we first moved in). You'll have to come trick or treating and see me!

oh, and we have a Tim Burton movie night scheduled. I'm a HUGE fan of his and it wouldn't be the Halloween season without it.

Cold December

Adele had started potty training last week and it's been interesting. She saw Ally potty and refused to wear diapers and has tried to potty but so far we haven't been able to actually "go" in to potty yet. So I'm trying to be more relaxed about it. I have panties, pull ups, diapers, a sticker chart, and of course she loves the idea of running around half naked. I don't want to just put her back in diapers if she shows signs of wanting to use the potty.

She calls Janessa sis now and has learned how to say tricky from Run DMC's hit. She even says it how they do in the song and it's the funniest thing ever. The one thing I'm surprised at, is how good she is at copying hand gestures. I'm been thinking about teaching her sign language. I know it's suppose to be the perfect age (if not even earlier)but I'll be honest, it seems like a lot of work as I don't know sign language much myself. I want to get her the Muzzy series. I'm learning German again myself and I think it would be good to teach it to her. I think the hardest part, is actually talking and immersing yourself in that other language when another, primary one is being used.

A member of my group uses cloth diapers. As soon as Adele was born, I just swore them off. The idea of washing dirty diapers didn't appeal to me and I just couldn't see how they could work as good as disposable ones. Then she showed me hers. They have changed so much from how I envisioned in my mind. They're cute, functional, and seem to be way more comfortable for baby. The clean up for them seems pretty easy, too. I might just have to try that with baby number 2.

We are thinking about coming up to DL for the weekend to visit and gather more garage sale items to sell. Our last one went so well, and having that extra money was nice. So is having more space cleared. What amazed me is what people buy and what they don't. I had people buy half bottles of lotion for a quarter but turn down a huge microwave for $3. I had a really nice watch on sale for $5 and later marked it down to $2. It even had a small diamond in it, and later I was told that I was selling it too cheap so people wondered what was wrong with it.

I have lot's of homework to start on today. I have a few days to turn it in, but I want to get it done and over with. I also have to take an exam but am waiting for my proctor papers to clear. Lol, I would give anything to live on campus by myself and just focus on school. It would be so much easier than trying to juggle everything else. And to think when I graduated, a friend of mine and I were just dead set on getting an apartment together and living on campus was the last thing on our minds. Two words. Young and Stupid. And if you move back home during the summer you will get free food and free if not super cheap rent as well, you don't have to worry about parking, and it's a lot easier to get your butt to class, not to mention all the people you get to meet and hang out with in the dorms.

So I got a lot done on the estate. Yeah, for me. I am working on it bit by bit everyday. Eventually, it should be over and done with. I missed my dad so much yesterday. I'm really dreading winter. There's something about the leaves turning and falling off the tree that just depresses me. But I'm trying to remind myself of hot cocoa and Christmas decorations (yup, I'm one of those super annoying holiday fanatics that has presents, decor, lights that probably use enough energy for a small country, and cookies to feed an army). I would say Halloween and Christmas are my favorite holidays. I HATE November and Thanksgiving. Both my mother and father died right around Thanksgiving and it's still hard. I wish I could say it gets easier and in some ways it does but you will always remember and miss your parents. And it's also a little weird to spend the holidays with your grandparents, Adele's great grandparents, but not your parents or her grandparents. But I must also say I am sooo thankful for the wonderful family the hubby and I both have and of course our own.

Well, time to embark on the day and get more things done than posting, watching Dora, and eating cereal bars.

It's raining Juice!

I have decided to start scheduling daily guitar practices with everyone. I'm more of a piano person myself. It's hard to learn a new instrument but I'm game as we have a ton of them in the basement and I really would like to learn on the one my dad gave me for obvious reasons. We are thinking about getting a band going, there's a few people interested but I want to get into a good schedule with it first. Adele loves to try and play as well and Janessa can sing which is great considering Amadon and I are both tone death. Our basement is absolutely creepy. It looks like one out of a horror film and thus has become the favorite hang out for jamming. I want to hang up our 6 guitars but it might be tough with the concrete. I have been after him to actually finish a song, lol. He's learning how to read music as well. My piano background had a little bit of influence and he's teaching me tabs and such.

We are having a date night once a week. We still haven't quite decided what we're going to do. We're thinking comedy night with drinks on Wednesday's. I'm a HUGE stand up comedy fan. We finally found a really good, reliable sitter who's affordable which was tough to find with having no initial friends or family here.

My meet up group is getting to be a lot of fun. We have 30 members now and a group of us are getting past that initial, awkward, "Hi, how are you phase?" and into the sitting and laughing, being able to BS stage and have fun.

Adele stared at the rain today and proudly exclaimed, "JUICE!!!". I thought it was the cutest thing ever.

School is going ok. It's still hard to really get into the homework mindset but so far so good. I'm not looking forward to my student loans, this semester I paid out of pocket but I can't do that every semester, but hey at least it has a low interest rate, and education is more important than the money it takes to get it.

It was fun to hang out with Sam, last weekend in DL. I gave her, her birthday present and anny gift. She thought it was pretty neat and we spent the day together. We are planning a girl's only vacation to go on when the kid's are a bit bigger. Part of me still hopes that maybe Amadon will get a job out at camp, so Sam and I can live by each other or maybe they will move here but I don't really think that's going to happen. We still see each other a lot though.

We had our garage sale. We're planning on a second one, that's a little more planned out but we still made some mad cash in a day.

Jibberish

Wow, the weeks have been flying by. It's almost scary how fast the seasons go. Sometimes I think I should just go to some relaxed tropical island and live that slow, lazy pace of life. Everyone went to the zoo the other weekend in Fargo. It was a lot of fun. I went on a carnival ride for the first time with Adele and she thought it was the greatest thing ever. She has been talking like crazy. I want to kick myself for not writing down all her little milestones cuz I know I'll want to know what they were later. But her biggest words right now are CHEESE and COOKIE for every food group. JUICE for any form of liquid. SHe has learned how to perfect the art of the whiny, high pitched, MA MA! And last week, she starting singing and dancing to the music in the car. It's just jibberish, but she has the same pace and tone as the singer.

We are having a Halloween Party and Adele's birthday party. We need to start cleaning out our basement tonight. Hopefully, we'll have a garage sale this weekend. I bought a bunch of bins to put everything we own into it, label it, and call it organized.

My schedule is just crazy per day with all the activities to go to, meetings, and meet ups. I love my meet up group. We got a few more members and it's fun. It's hard to find meetups for lot's of kids though when it gets cool. But I think it will be neat to see were we are at in a year or two.

I"m going to school. And so far my GPA is pretty good. It has been so hard for everyone to get use to me doing homework though. All I hear is "MA MA!" from Adele, "MOM!!!!" from Janessa, and "HUNNY!" from the hubby. It's like the universe will somehow collapse, if mom is not readily available for a couple of hours. :)

Will update soon.
